Furnhouse – Shopify eCommerce Website for Furniture Retail
Furnhouse is a Melbourne-based furniture brand offering a wide selection of affordable and modern home furnishings to the Australian market.
The original site was built on a PHP-based platform, but the brand needed a modern, scalable, and user-friendly eCommerce solution that would better support their operations and growth.
As the web developer, I was responsible for migrating the entire website to Shopify, including product data, categories, custom pages, and key functionality. The result is a clean, responsive online store with a focus on performance, ease of navigation, and conversion-driven layout — built to serve a direct-to-consumer (B2C) model.

Challenge Faced
Migration from PHP to Shopify: Retaining SEO, content, and product structure during platform switch.
Solution: Carefully mapped and migrated data, set up 301 redirects, and manually recreated important pages to preserve SEO rankings.

High-Quality Imagery without Slow Load Times: Furniture products require large, detailed images.
Solution: Compressed and converted images to WebP format and used lazy loading to maintain fast performance.
